Quentin in Boston

By guest blogger Quentin Quail.

Psst. Quentin here! Yes, Quentin Quail. Shhhhh. Don't tell Ruth. She doesn't know I'm blogging!!! But I coudn't resist it. I'm on such an adventure. As you may know, I'm a California Quail and have never left CA before - but now I'm in Boston!! It's so exciting.

So here's me - on the suitcase:

You see, yesterday I sneaked into Ruth's luggage and we went to San Francisco and got inside - yes inside - this really big bird. It was incredible. The bird flew so easily and never even flapped his wings....like he just soared all the time. Now, being a Quail, I don't like flying that much. My sport is running. Yes, I know some of you like cricket (like that other guest blogger), or golf....but mine is running. I run fast with my little legs and always keep my running shoes on....And while I can fly, I just don't like it that much. All that flapping, phew! It's a lot of energy. If I could fly like that big bird yesterday, then maybe I'd like it more...but I digress (as most bloggers do!!).

So Ruth and I and loads of other people all got inside this non-flapping bird and 6 hours later, here we are in Boston! The weather is weird here. Hot like CA but steamy too. Bit too sweaty for me. Yes you are right, birds don't sweat - but still......

We are staying a couple of nights in Boston and then meet with Ruth's sister and family and go to Rockport. I'm so excited. I've never even heard of these places before....

But remember - don't mention this to Ruth. I don't think she knows...although she was given two room keys so maybe the hotel person spotted me peaking out of the suitcase and gave me my own key....... How nice :>D

But I tell you one thing she definitely doesn't know and that is that I brought my 27 friends with me too! Yes - a covey of CA quails in MA! (Did you know that a group of quails is a covey? Learn something new everyday heh! ). Anyhow, the rest of the covey are a bit tired, so crashed out in the chair in the hotel room today...

but we'll be ready for some adventures tomorrow! Come back and I'll tell you what we get up to....Bye for now....(Hey - this blogging thing is actually quite good fun!).

So looking forward to meeting you Quentin.

Gosh Lora - thanks for the invite. I'm blushing a little here - didn't know this blogging thing would get me this attention..... I love the idea of seeing LA....and after my day today in Boston - which got a little dangerous, I think I'll be happy to come back to CA. I'll be in touch Qxx
