Quentin has been out and about a lot today. First we saw him down by the pond, then he and his family have just been strolling along the lawn.
Their chicks have grown a lot. When we first saw them, they were each about the size of dime! Now look at how big they are.
They started out with 11 chicks and today we saw 9, so that's pretty good going. Always nice to see Quentin and family!

Quentin's a Charmer!
Anyone who knows Quentin, knows that he is quite the charmer! He's just a lovely sweet character so I thought he should have his very own charm bracelet to show off his charm!
You can add other charms alongside him as he's quite friendly, or else you can keep it just to Q.
I think I like him on his own actually....but maybe we could add some family members as you know quails have lots of babies... We could have our own covey of quails all on one bracelet!
Keep on charming, Quentin!

Quentin is on his travels!
Quentin is all ready for a little trip. He heads up to Vancouver, BC today with me to see my aunts and uncles and cousins.
He wanted to get organized himself, so he packed his own suitcase. I did warn him that even though his case is bigger than he is, he has to carry it himself. He assured me it was full of lightweight things. (I wonder what a little quail packs for himself?...any ideas?)

And as we are going into Canada, he hunted out his passport, flight tickets, (yes, just between you and me, I don't think he's quite at his peak, physically, at the moment so isn't up to flying all that way) and camera too.
Maybe he'll share some of his photos on the blog here.
We'll be gone for a few days, back Monday.
"Ready to head out Quentin?"
I guess he is!

The fun and scary times in Boston!!
By guest blogger Quentin Quail
My first day around Boston! Phew, I'm exhausted. It had some really good bits in it - but then some scary moments too.
We wandered around a lot of the city - gosh, glad I had my running shoes on. It's exhausting trying to keep up.. Everything was fun until we went to Boston Common and met the ducks. I thought us birds stuck together....but their "playing" with me scared me somewhat!

I mean, we get ducks in CA - but they seem friendlier than these! Lucky escape, I have to say.
Hoping the rest of the week won't be quite this exciting!

Quentin in Boston
By guest blogger Quentin Quail.
Psst. Quentin here! Yes, Quentin Quail. Shhhhh. Don't tell Ruth. She doesn't know I'm blogging!!! But I coudn't resist it. I'm on such an adventure. As you may know, I'm a California Quail and have never left CA before - but now I'm in Boston!! It's so exciting.
So here's me - on the suitcase:

You see, yesterday I sneaked into Ruth's luggage and we went to San Francisco and got inside - yes inside - this really big bird. It was incredible. The bird flew so easily and never even flapped his wings....like he just soared all the time. Now, being a Quail, I don't like flying that much. My sport is running. Yes, I know some of you like cricket (like that other guest blogger), or golf....but mine is running. I run fast with my little legs and always keep my running shoes on....And while I can fly, I just don't like it that much. All that flapping, phew! It's a lot of energy. If I could fly like that big bird yesterday, then maybe I'd like it more...but I digress (as most bloggers do!!).
So Ruth and I and loads of other people all got inside this non-flapping bird and 6 hours later, here we are in Boston! The weather is weird here. Hot like CA but steamy too. Bit too sweaty for me. Yes you are right, birds don't sweat - but still......
We are staying a couple of nights in Boston and then meet with Ruth's sister and family and go to Rockport. I'm so excited. I've never even heard of these places before....
But remember - don't mention this to Ruth. I don't think she knows...although she was given two room keys so maybe the hotel person spotted me peaking out of the suitcase and gave me my own key....... How nice :>D

But I tell you one thing she definitely doesn't know and that is that I brought my 27 friends with me too! Yes - a covey of CA quails in MA! (Did you know that a group of quails is a covey? Learn something new everyday heh! ). Anyhow, the rest of the covey are a bit tired, so crashed out in the chair in the hotel room today...

but we'll be ready for some adventures tomorrow! Come back and I'll tell you what we get up to....Bye for now....(Hey - this blogging thing is actually quite good fun!).
