I'm stuck for what to call my latest pink aluminum bangle....
The design actually happened by accident but I like it!
You see the silver lines - like the "glint" bangles, crossing at right angles? They were a color - a darker shade of pink - before I sealed it. But the dye I used didn't get into the pores of the surface of the aluminum. When you anodize the aluminum, it opens pores on the surface and then dyes with small particle size can get in. Then when you seal the metal, the pores close and the dye stays and nothing else gets in. The resultant surface layer is also stronger than before.
So the dark pink didn't work, probably because its particle size was too large to get in the pores, and left the silver color of the aluminum showing through.
Do you have any ideas for a name?

The pattern definitely reminds me of something. I just can't quite put my finger on it. The two titles that come to me are "traces" and "earth map". Love these anodized pieces!
Thank you my dear. I'm enjoying using color. I like the "traces" idea...
Oh Ruth this bracelet says so much...lots to see...I see planes, birds, animals, the world wanting pink instead of red....deep is all I can say...It is like looking at clouds and making out what we see. It is unique..love it. Louanne
The Crossroads. Because isn't Mother Earth (and aren't we all) at a crossroads? Janet
Ah ha! I hadn't seen those things at all but now I do! I hadn't quite got the "earth" reference, ...but I see it. I was just focusing on the lines and not the rest I guess! Thanks for your ideas and for helping me see it from another perspective:=D
