The joys of dyeing

I bought some new aluminum dyes recently so was making a couple up this morning.  The turquoise was different from the others as you had to combine a couple of chemicals with it...so I started making it up, but then had trouble opening the little sachet.  As there was liquid in it - that made it stick closed so I was fiddling and .....

Yes, unlike the other dyes, I have now found out that the turquoise is actually excellent at dyeing skin!!!  None of the other dyes have ever stained my skin but this one is an expert at it! These photos are taken after I've been washing, scrubbing, trying acetone etc etc!!

I guess I'll just have to wear turquoise today if I go out so that at least I match my fingers!! Who needs rings when you can just dye your fingers - much more eye catching, don't you think???

Hmmm.... Maybe gloves next time :=D

I wonder if Reduran works on aluminum dye? That's what I use when I dye fabric. It seems to get the top, deal layer of skin cells to peel off, so maybe it would work for this.

Yes, gloves were my after-thought too! All the other dyes were powders so I should have been alerted when this one was liquid!!!

Thanks for the Reduran idea Vickie. I'll check it out. I have faded a little today however - 24 hours later!
