Dawanda Lovebook Winter 2011/2012

I am delighted to be featured in the 2011/2012 Dawanda Lovebook.  Mine arrived in the mail just today! 

If you don't know who Dawanda are - you should! They are the group that I sell my jewelry through in Europe. They are based in Germany and have a German, French and English platform. 

I was approached by them a couple of months ago and asked to complete an interview for inclusion.  Dawanda are always sooooooo good to me.  I have been selling with them for quite a few years now - and they really do look after me well. They pass on my info to other media - for example, I appeared in the Sunday New York Times last year because I was found on Dawanda....., they include me in their own promotions....I just can't say enough good things about them!  Here is the inclusion they put in their new Lovebook:

Field Guide to Bird Tracks bracelet

I've decided to change my bracelet design a little by making some of them elasticated instead of closing with a clasp.  Some people find clasps on bracelets very difficult to operate - no matter what type of clasp, so I thought this would be a nice option.

Here's the new design on my Field Guide to Bird Tracks bracelet:

I like it and am going to change my own "be as a bird" bracelet to elasticated.

What do you think?  Which would you prefer - a clasp or elasticated?

The bird tracks bracelet can help you identify bird tracks that you may see in the soil or sand or wherever...The tracks shown are for the following birds (starting at the duck as that is easily recognizable!:

Duck; Bald Eagle; Canada Goose; Wild Turkey; Great Blue Heron; Sandpiper; Northern Flicker; Raven; Snipe.

I'm going to do a few new bracelets - do you have a theme you'd like to see on a bracelet - 9 different something-or-others???

Etsy Treasury East

Etsy have created a new treasury "outlet" called Etsy East which means you can make as many treasuries as you like without the waiting.

Currently there are three that people have kindly shown some of my pieces in.   The treasuries are larger than before so sorry I can't take a screenshot of the whole thing!  If you click on the link, you'll see the full 16 items.

The first one was created by FavreBijoux and entitled Metalsmiths and Fine Jewelry on Etsy and features my necklace "anyone can dance"

The second was created by Stephanieburciaga and entitle Metal:Wood and features Rupert the Bird

The third features members of the Etsy Metal Clay team and was created by Lorena Angulo  and is entitled Metal Clay  + Craftsmanship = Etsy Metal Clay Team and features my birdtracks bracelet.

It's always lovely when people feature your work.  Many thanks for that.

In celebration of all these lovely treasuries, I made one myself too, featuring the Etsy Metal Clay team. It's entitled "Bloomin' lovely" and shows lots of floral works.

Bird tracks silver bracelet

I refinished my bird tracks bracelet today, adding small silver balls in between each square. It doesn't really change the visual look of the bracelet but without the balls, the squares jingle together quite a lot. I like to hear the sound - but in many environments you don't want a jingle as you move your wrist - so the little spacers do the trick. It's now a quiet bracelet - so you won't scare the birds away as you are checking their tracks!


I've also photographed it again trying a couple of new props. I'd like your opinion. Obviously close ups are necessary but I sometimes like to add one "prop" photo to catch the eye.


Here I've done the bracelet on binoculars and also on a 'field guide to birds' book. Which do you prefer? Which "grabs" you most? If you have the time, please let me know in the comments. Appreciate your point of view!
