December 1st - today - is World AIDS day. It is estimated that worldwide 33 million people are living with HIV. In the United States, an estimated 1.2 million people are living with HIV. The National Institute on Drug Abuse and the US Department of Health and Human Services have come together with Bloggers Unite to share HIV/AIDS information with the blogging community today.
Bloggers Unite are encouraging bloggers to post the World AIDS day badge for December 1st - and if enough bloggers participate, we can make a difference. For more information on HIV and AIDS : http://unite.blogcatalog.com/#challenge
Dawanda have joined up with MySpace and Designers against AIDS for World AIDS day too. Designers have created items with the theme of the red ribbon for AIDS as their inspiration. Here's the link to the Dawanda page : http://en.dawanda.com/s/designagainstaids
