Flickr and Sweet Figments

I've recently been posting my photos on Flickr - both of jewelry and some birds. Previously I'd not really used Flickr but after my dad was "discovered" on it, and after asking a few other "jewelry people" about it, I was convinced that I should be a bit more active as it does seem useful for increased exposure.

As I'm sure most people know, as well as having your own photo set, you can also join groups and post your photos there. Yesterday I signed up to join the Sweet Figments group. Sweet Figments is a blog that was designed to help get artists more exposure and also includes features and interviews etc.

Well - yesterday I added 5 photos to the group - and today, they are showing one of them on their Flickr Friday blog! How fast is that. They chose my "Feed the birds" necklace - that always seems to catch to eye!


The other wonderful thing about Sweet Figments is their logo! Here it is:

Front page of Dawanda! - 2 items!

I kept getting all these lovely comments on Dawanda today...so was wondering what was happening that everyone was finding me...

Took a look at the front page and there was not one, but two of my items featured there. Here's a snapshot!


See the aeroplane necklace - "fly me to the moon" (does anyone use the word aeroplane anymore..I always did in England...?!!) and birdfeeder necklace -"feed the birds"? Funny thing is, the plane isn't even listed for sale! I took it off a while ago.

Nice to get some exposure and comments!

Birdfeeder on Handmade News

Just heard that my "feed the birds" birdfeeder necklace is mentioned in "handmade news" today. It's an article all about attracting birds - with fun facts and quiz. The quiz is all about state birds - I didn't know any of them! Go take a look - and then please click on the "like it" button at the bottom.


The writer mentions my necklace for bird watchers on the go - as you can unscrew the lid and feed the birds as a go with the real birdseed inside!!

Feed the Birds

Remember the song from Mary Poppins:

Feed the birds, tuppence a bag,

I remember trying to sing it when I was a little girl - but it was so low - my voice couldn't reach all those low notes...... I always used to love that song though -especially when we'd go out somewhere and see all the birds sitting around waiting for food......

And now my latest necklace gives you a chance to always feed the birds!


It shows two little hand-crafted birds on a birdfeeder....and inside the birdfeeder is real birdseed! Following on from the birdies breakfast necklace - this one takes it a step further with the actual seed inside the glass feeder!
