Tranquility

Following on from last week's serenity post, this time, we're in search of some tranquility.

Take time to make some tea, and find tranquil-tea!  A necklace or bracelet, to act as a reminder.

Animal tracks bracelet

I've simplified the design of my animal tracks bracelet a little, mainly to use less material so when it is in silver, the price isn't so high.

This time, I tried making it in copper, with a footprint toggle clasp.

Can you identify the tracks?

It's a popular piece - I often get requests to make them with a different combination of tracks. And just once, I made it with different size human footprints, to symbolize different family members!

My creative space

I thought I'd play along with the "my creative space" that is hosted on Kootoyoo's blog on Thursdays and show you a work in progress.....

Here's my little row of houses that I'm working on..... Tomorrow I will seal the colors on the aluminum, then I will be adding tube rivets at the top to hold the copper and aluminum layers today and also as a means to add a chain.

Landscape

Here's a brooch that I worked on at the mixed media class last week using nuts and bolts.  Not my usual style but good for techniques. 

Gosh, I really don't enjoy soldering on those fiddly little brooch/pin findings.  Definitely not my number one task!

I love the colors in this - and the blackened copper sets it off nicely.

Men's jewelry

Trying to do a couple of things for the guys.... I know lots of men don't want to wear any jewelry - but some do - so along with my cufflinks, I've created a bangle. Actually, maybe I should call it a cuff - that sounds better than bangle??!!!! It is made from titanium and copper. Just a simple design - just a try to see if it's of interest....

Competition Tuesday!

I've finished my mixed metal bracelet. It's made with three types of metal clay. Firstly, the usual silver clay, then bronze clay and also copper clay.

The design has a lot of movement as each little
piece can twist around. When the pieces are twisted and not laying flat, it reminds me of jacks - that game we played as kids with little funny shaped pieces and a ball.

I'm thinking that that's what I'll name it - maybe "relaxed jacks". But I'd love to hear if you have a better idea.

So here's where this week's competition comes in. Think of a name for my bracelet.

And please - not mixed metal bracelet! You know what sort of names I normally choose.

My other thought was "indecision day" bracelet. Especially as it is election day today. You can't decide what colour metal to wear for your jewelry today - just one too many decisions, so instead you wear three colours - silver, bronze and copper!!!

So you've had two of my ideas - none of which I really like. Let's hear yours!!! I'll give a prize to the name I select.........
